BUSINESS PROCESS

INITIAL CONCEPT

This is where you begin to flesh out your basic idea. Think about what you want your product to be, what it is used in and who are the target customers. Creating sketches and notes of your initial concept.Concept generation is the process of generating new ideas. It is supposed to be synthetic rather than analytical. The purpose is to keep coming up with ideas regardless of practicality. This is just like a brain storming session. Then the final idea is selected and presented to the client.

RESEARCH AND IDEA GENERATION

A creative process used to generate new ideas, whether they are tangible or intangible. This process involve gathering ideas, research and ultimately implementing the plan. This also includes coming up with many ideas and selecting the best idea from the lot and finally working on it.

RANGE PLANNING

The range plan is a very valuable tool for retailers to have visibility of the next seasons range, and what it will deliver in terms of margin performance before the order is given to the suppliers with range plan one can plan the outline structure of your range.

A range plan is an overview of your collection with all of the design and financial set out. The plan outlines the specific of your collection, from how many styles you will have to what fabric and colors will be used. This is done before you drive into large scale production.

In our range planning we have give 5 different looks.

The development process may contain several sign off points where you will be expected to approve changes, before the design can continue the process. For example, you may be asked to sign off on a web design before the designer begins the build.

You will want to agree these sign off points in advance, to allow you to discuss and collaborate on the design. Having a chance to agree on certain design assumptions or details can result in faster development and ensure that your project stays in scope and on budget.

change in bodycon silhouette since decade

A body-con dress is a one-piece figure hugging garment that clings tightly to the body from the bust to the lower hem. It typically has three lengths: upper thigh, mid thigh or knee. Body-con dresses are usually made of a lycra and polyester blend, to give them enough elasticity to hug the figure smoothly.

It has become a go to look for a night out. Mid-thigh length, form-fitting with lots of stretch in the fabric. Currently very trendy are versions with lace, mesh or some sort of transparency at the back or sleeves.

A couple of decade back, 90’s was the peak of the body con dress trend. A quick google search will lead you to believe that herve leger invented the bandage dress in 1989, (originally called “the bender” because of how it bends and molds the figure.) Here are some of leger’s creations from the early 90’s.
